The majority of refugees in Greece seek sanctuary in Europe from war and violence in Syria and the Middle East. Currently an estimated 57,000 people are stranded in Greece and face an uncertain future with few or no resources. Asylum and relocation services are overburdened and under-resourced. The Greek government has created several temporary housing sites, many of which are now longer term homes for refugee families.
Cross-Cultural Solutions will be working within refugee camps north of Athens. We will be working in partnership with a dynamic local NGO to promote the protection of girls and women, provide educational and recreational activities for children, assist in soup kitchens, and contribute to small construction projects to improve facilities within the camps.
Please join us in July, 2017, to make a real hands on contribution to this ongoing humanitarian need.
We need at least 20 volunteers to operate these important volunteer projects. As always CCS projects can accommodate a variety of skill sets and is open to those 18 and above.
